Markstein Cancer Services has received numerous community and national awards including the:
Awards
- Special Recognition award from the State of California American Cancer Society
- Gold Triangle Award from American Academy, of Dermatology
- Outstanding Performance from Korean Community Health Services
- Hope Honor from American Cancer Services
- Special Recognition Award from the Ethnic Health Institute
- Commendation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Addreditation in recognition of community cancer programs on early detection
Endowments
Markstein Cancer Education and Prevention Services has been supported by an endowment fund from Albert and Bertha Markstein which funds the colorectal screenings, the resource center, and many of the community educational lectures and workshops and support groups.
Additionally Markstein Services has served as a subcontractor of the Department of Defense and National Cancer Institute in various prostate cancer research funded grants.

Markstein Cancer Education and Prevention Services is a department of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Cancer donations and gifts are deductible on federal tax returns subject to the limits allowed by the Internal Revenue Service (see IRS Code 170).
