Educational Outreach
To impact lowering the incidence of cancer in our community members, Markstein staff reaches out to multiple community clinics to offer clients funded cancer screenings. All clinic referrals, along with the screenings, receive education about the steps they can personally take to lower their cancer risk. In addition, Markstein Cancer services staff can often be found providing one to one health messages at schools health fairs , senior community events or centers and corporate health fairs. Ongoing community linkages are maintained with the following agencies and groups:

Markstein Cancer Education and Prevention Services is a department of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Cancer donations and gifts are deductible on federal tax returns subject to the limits allowed by the Internal Revenue Service (see IRS Code 170).
