Because of its innovations in radiation oncology and its use of the most advanced radiotherapy equipment and technologies, the Alta Bates Summit Comprehensive Cancer Center has been recognized as a Center of Excellence by Varian Medical Systems.

Varian is a leading manufacturer of medical technology for treating cancer with radiotherapy and neurological cancers with radiosugery. As part of this designation, the Cancer Center partners with Varian in the evaluation and testing on new hardware and software as it becomes available. As such, the Alta Bates Summit Comprehensive Cancer Center uses the latest, state-of-the-art technologies for radiation therapy.
