Gastroenterology (GI) Services

Gastroenterology Services offer both inpatient and outpatient endoscopy services to diagnose and treat problems of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. We primarily conduct screening colonoscopies to provide early identification of possible “hidden” colon cancer.

Alta Bates Summit is Five-Star Rated for GI Surgery and Procedures from 2009 to 2010 by HealthGrades, and Five-Star Rated for Treatment of GI Bleed in 2010.

The department’s skilled nurses and gastroenterologists use the most up-to-date equipment and techniques available. Our medical team of gastroenterologists, along with a colorectal surgeon, perform procedures in our state-of-the-art GI Suite. Colorectal surgeons also offer additional specialized services related to the lower digestive tract.
