Midwifery Services

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center offers the option of Certified nurse-midwives (CNMs), providing care for women with normal pregnancies in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers.

Our midwives promote education throughout the childbearing cycle as well as stress your entire family's active participation in all aspects of care. They also give emotional and social support and non-intervention or supportive intervention in normal processes.

With the midwifery services, the Labor and Delivery Recovery rooms(LDRs), and extensive support for women with high-risk pregnancies, we offer you a wide range of birthing options to meet the varying needs and wishes of women in our diverse community.
