    Girls Orthopedic Sports Injuries

An unfortunate upshot of the huge surge in participation in women's college and high school athletics over the past several decades has been a corresponding increase in female athletes' sports injuries.

The knee—specifically, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)—is an especially vulnerable area for young women involved in sports, particularly those who play soccer and basketball.

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center's Orthopedic Center of Excellence, one of the largest orthopedic service centers in the East Bay, offers everything from minimally invasive surgery to comprehensive rehabilitation.
