Adult Eating Disorder Program
The Adult Eating Disorder Program offers a safe and consistently supportive environment for adults recovering from an eating disorder. Participants receive the resources they need to return nutritional deficits to normal and heal unhealthy attitudes and beliefs about food and eating habits. Patients participate in cognitive and emotional therapy geared towards healing the body, mind, and spirit.
The program offers a constant, predictable and structured path for participants through the stages of recovery and addresses a wide array of specific treatment needs including:
- Psychoeducation about eating disorders and the recovery process
- Medical “re-feeding”
- Emotional triggers
- Family therapy and support
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Treatment of co-morbid conditions
- Development of healthy coping skills
- Processing the grief and loss of eating disorder identity
- Assertiveness training
- Relapse prevention
- Discharge meal planning
- After-care support resources
The ultimate goal of our inpatient hospitalization program is to bring immediate help to the patient and develop a comprehensive, manageable transition plan for the return home. We strive to provide the best opportunity for health and recovery.
