Interviewer: Here's an important heart healthy tip from one of the heart experts at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
Dr. Russel Stanten: I'm Dr. Russell Stanten. As a heart surgeon, I tell my patients that you can make just a few changes in your diet and have a big impact on reducing your risk for heart disease. Limit the amount of salt you use, especially if you have high blood pressure. Choose fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and fish instead of high fat foods. Your choices make all the difference in having a healthier heart.
Interviewer: This heart healthy tip is brought to you by Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, a member of the Sutter Health family.
