Our Women & Infants Services Interview with Stuart M. Lovett, M.D. This is a transcript of the Audio: Our Women & Infants Services (http://38.111.154.172/SutterEastBay/lovett.wma). To listen you may download Windows Media Player (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/download-windows-media-player). Female Interviewer: A healthy pregnancy and beautiful, bouncing baby are what we plan for. But sometimes babies are in a hurry or complications can arise. Dr. Stuart Lovett: We deliver about 8500 babies a year at Alta Bates Summit. The more you see and the more you do, the better you are at it. Interviewer: Dr. Stu Lovett and his colleagues know babies. Our Newborn Intensive Care Nursery was one of the first of its kind in the country, where every baby and family have their own special place, and we think that's important. Dr. Lovett: In obstetrics most things usually go well, but things can go downhill in a heartbeat and what you really need at that moment is a team that can rush in and rescue the baby. Interviewer: Because when you're bringing the tiniest infants into the world, we think you should have an expert team by your side. Dr. Lovett: It's critically important and the reason I choose to practice at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Interviewer: Visit altabatessummit.org to find a doctor who's right for you. Alta Bates Summit, we know babies. That's important. A member of the Sutter Health family.
