Family Resource Centers
Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is proud to provide two concierge waiting areas, or Family Resource Centers, designed for the comfort of our guests and visitors.
The Family Resource Center offers a unique setting where our patient’s friends and families can find a quiet comfortable place to read, relax and reflect, while waiting for a loved one or friend to be discharged from their surgery or medical procedure. There are plenty of comfortable chairs and sofas to sit back and relax. An assortment of current and topical magazines are also available. In addition, they provide free Wi-Fi, a resource-magazine library and a play area for kids.
The hospitals’ surgeons, doctors and nurses may visit the Family Resource Center to meet, consult and update visiting families and friends with any surgery progress reports.
The Family Resource Center is staffed by volunteers who can assist the visiting families and friends with finding the right patient room or the correct department after surgery. The Family Resource Center volunteers can also provide patient status updates for visiting families and friends.
