What is Pre-Registration?
Pre-registration is a two-step process that must be completed before having surgery or a procedure at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center (ABSMC).
Step 1 » Pre-Registration
Your physician has chosen a Sutter Health facility for your surgery or procedure. Prior to your visit with us, you will receive a phone call from the Patient Access Center (PAC) with an area code of 916 to obtain registration information and discuss financial and insurance information.
- Based on your insurance information, the representative will review your potential cost for the procedure to help ensure you are well informed of financial responsibilities and receive a positive experience during your stay.
- If you would like to contact the PAC, please call the toll free number 1-855-398-1637 during the office hours of 7:30am - 6:15pm.
Step 2 » Pre-Operative Evaluation
You will be scheduled for a Pre-Operative visit or phone call. A nurse will gather your health history, answer your questions, explain necessary processes to help prepare for your surgery or procedure and obtain your current medication list. You are encouraged to bring your medication bottles with you to confirm or create the most accurate medication list possible.
