2000's
May 2009 – Construction is completed on a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen for use by the Culinary Arts Program and catering business.
April 2009 – Thunder Road hires a professional chef to oversee catering segment of the Culinary Arts Program.
March 2009 - Thunder Road launches a new benefit event, Taste of the East Bay, at the Berkeley City Club.
September 2008 – The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) extends and Thunder Road’s accreditation through June 2011. Core programs are accredited to provide integrated behavioral health services are Outpatient, Day Treatment, Residential, Inpatient, and Therapeutic Communities. Digital Storytelling is highlighted as an exemplary program.
January 2008 – Thunder Road’s Culinary Arts Program begins catering events.
September 2007 – Thunder Road completes outcome-based continuum of care longitudinal study as part of CSAT "Strengthening Communities -Youth" Initiative. made possible through a Federal grant though the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. Teens in both the outpatient and inpatient programs participated, and were interviewed at admission and at intervals up to two years after treatment. Findings indicate that treatment successfully reduces substance use and other behavioral issues.
September 2006 – Thunder Road launches SCYWeb, an electronic medical record system.
July 2005 - The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) extends and expands Thunder Road’s accreditation through June 2008. Programs are accredited to provide Integrated Behavioral Health Services. Thunder Road’s core programs: Outpatient, Day Treatment, Residential, Inpatient, and Therapeutic Communities all receive exemplary marks for conformance with more than 1,250 national standards

January 2003 - Drug Strategies chose Thunder Road as one of 144 nationally recognized programs to be featured in-depth in its Treating Teens: A Guide to Adolescent Drug Programs project.
January 2003 - Thunder Road is featured as an exemplary adolescent treatment model in Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment in the United States: Exemplary Models from a National Evaluation Study, published by Haworth Press.

Programs are accredited to provide Integrated Alcohol and Other Drug and Mental Health Services. Thunder Road’s core programs: Outpatient, Day Treatment, Residential, Inpatient, and Therapeutic Communities all receive exemplary marks for conformance with more than 1,250 national standards.
April 2002 - The federal Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) selects Thunder Road as one of 12 initial agencies in the nation to lead a 5-year initiative to Strengthen Communities Youth (SCY) treatment systems.
January 2002 - Thunder Road adds chef position to develop vocational Culinary Arts Program.
September 2001 - Thunder Road implements Wilderness Back Packing Program.
December 2000 - Thunder Road partners with Trapeze Arts, Inc. on innovative treatment interventions designed to engage and support youth in recovery.
November 2000 - Contra Costa County Children’s Mental Health Department collaborates to expand adolescent treatment services.
March 2000 - Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services and Thunder Road collaborate to implement adolescent treatment services.

December 1999 - Summit Medical Center and Thunder Road merge with Alta Bates Medical Center, and become affiliated with Sutter Health Care System.
March 1999 - Intensive Outpatient Program opens in Oakland.
November 1998 - Judy Flowers and Jerry Seltzer Co-chair their first Roast and Jam benefit concert.
February 1998 - East Bay Nation of Men (EBNOM) host first Crab Feast.
October 1997 - Thunder Road selected by Center for Substance Abuse Treatment to collaborate in largest federal adolescent treatment research study to date. The Adolescent Treatment Model (ATM) project will provide invaluable direction for treatment programs.
November 1996 - Thunder Road opens satellite program in San Jose.
October 1996 - Alameda Probation Department and Thunder Road collaborate to implement adolescent treatment services in the community and later at Camp Ready and Camp Sweeney.
February 1995 - Thunder Road's Development Council formed.
November 1994 - Treatment for nicotine abuse becomes a treatment focus.
October 1994 - Thunder Road's Community Advisory Board (CAB) formed.
May 1994 - East Bay Nation of Men organizes first community service project at Thunder Road.
May 1993 - First program graduate employed as a counselor.
November 1992 - Joel Selvin organizes first Roast and Jam music benefit concert.
February 1991 - Thunder Road incorporates as a non-profit agency and affiliates with Summit Medical Center.
March 1990 - Parent Alumni Association organized.

May 1987 - Weekly Addiction Awareness Series (AAS) opens to educate youth, families and the community about substance abuse issues.
January 1987 - Thunder Road opens at 390 40th Street, Oakland, California. Alameda County Office of Education opens Thunder Road's Community Court School.
