Public transportation to the medical center's three campuses is readily available.

For information on bus routes to the Alta Bates or Herrick campuses in Berkeley, or the Summit campus in Oakland, contact AC Transit by calling 511, and saying "AC Transit".

For information on taking BART to the Alta Bates or Herrick campuses in Berkeley, or the Summit campus in Oakland, the BART website External Site can help you with train schedules.

Shuttle Service

We provide the following shuttle services:

MacArthur BART station to the Summit and Alta Bates Campuses between the hours of 4:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes.
Milvia parking lot to the Herrick Campus, and then to the Alta Bates Campus between the hours of 4:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes.
On-call shuttle service for the Summit Campus and Alta Bates Campus, MacArthur BART station, and Rockridge BART station is available between the hours of 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
On-call shuttle service for the Herrick Campus, Milvia parking lot, and Ashby BART station is available between the hours of 9:00pm – 2:00am.
There is no shuttle service on weekends or holidays.
This is a FREE service and donations are not accepted.
