Hospitalization & Personal Belongings

If you are preparing for hospitalization, you only need certain personal items such as toilet articles, bathrobe, slippers and night clothes.

Please send all valuables such as credit cards, jewelry, computers, cash, and family heirlooms home with a family member or friend.

If you are unable to send them home, have your valuables placed in the hospital safe. To do so, please ask your nurse to secure them and be sure you receive a receipt.

Please Note: If you choose to keep valuable items with you during your stay, you assume responsibility for their safekeeping. Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is only responsible for items kept in the hospital safe.
