Visiting Hours

Patients at the Alta Bates and Summit campuses may generally receive visitors at any time, while the units at Herrick campus have specific visiting hours.

It is recommended that you check with the unit or department at the specific campus prior to your visit. Please call (510) 204-4444 for patient information at Alta Bates or Herrick campuses, or call (510) 655-4000 for patient information at the Summit campus.

Family members may stay overnight, pending the patient’s condition, nursing considerations, and the availability of a private room. Please check with the unit or department staff prior to making overnight arrangements.

Children over 12 are welcome in all areas; younger children are permitted only in the maternity unit. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
